Prof Wirth gave the opening talk at the 2009 Google Test and Automation
Conference in Zurich. The full video of his presentation is on YouTube:



If you haven't got 45 minutes to spare, just watch the last 10 minutes
first. You might then decide to watch the rest!

It should strike a few familiar chords and remind us why we use Oberon /
Component Pascal.

His experiences with Verilog reminds me of when I worked with a huge and
overly complex Java application in the Eclipse IDE. The only way to find
out what was going on in the program was to run the debugger which was
very unstable and slow. Compilation took forever.

I wonder what the audience thought about his speech.
