Post by Andy Ball1) How large can a Native Oberon partition be?
2) Is there a limit to the number of partitions that I can
have on one disk?
I think there's a write up on the max-size somewhere.
I've got up to:
Disk: IDE0, 37GB, ST340016A
IDE0#00 38166MB --- (Whole disk)
IDE0#01 8024MB 6 * DOS FAT16 >= 32M
IDE0#02 1027MB 131 Linux fsIDE0#42 125MB 76 |Native Oberon, Aos
...
IDE0#43 125MB 76 |Native Oberon, Aos
IDE0#44 11099MB --- (Free)
Disk: IDE2, 8063MB, WDC WD84AA
IDE2#00 8063MB --- (Whole disk)
...
IDE2#41 1153MB 131 |Linux fs
IDE2#42 1222MB 131 |Linux fs
To-date I've got 18 'clasifications' and I rotate the partitions
between IDEs as a backup safety.
I've evolved some naive tools which makes the partitions-etc,
more efficient for me than a standard dir-structure.
Do you use linux ?
cfdisk allows you to store the partiton boundries.
And they correspond to those shown by N-O as I remember ?
I've done quiet some N-O & linux work on this and made note
which are available.
Remember that the 'extended' partitons are 'chained', so
if the chain breaks, then all further partitions are not accessible.
That's why keeping the boundries, for possible repair,
is important IMO.
After much effort/research I fix my IDEx#26.
BTW N-O Partitions.Mod is 'real-good' IMO - I'm using
ver of 2001.
