I have installed ETH Oberon on a Windows XP computer. When I try to load
Oberon, it does not load as an application but does load as a
process. In the Windows Task Manager, it appears in the "Processes" list
but not in the "Applications" list.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Is this ETH PlugIn Oberon Release 2.4 that you have installed?

If so, make sure that you follow all of the steps in the "Installation
step-by-step" instructions in the readme.txt included with it. I don't know
whether it would result in your problem, but one step that you may have
overlooked is:

"3. Merge the settings in oberon.reg with your windows registry by selecting
the "Merge" entry in the context menu of the oberon.reg icon."

Thanks for your reply. It is ETH PlugIn Oberon that I installed.
YOu are correct. I had not carried out step #3 because I did not
understand the instruction. However, after I did it, Oberon still did
not start up.
I'm not sure that all the installation files were compatible. I think I
will uninstall and start over.
